Barraba Silo Art
You may have seen pictures of Barraba Silo Art’s ‘The Water Diviner’, but nothing compares to the 40m high real thing!
The delightful town of Barraba is a 1 hour drive from Tamworth and is situated on a picturesque bend of the Manilla River between the Horton Valley and the beautiful Nandewar Ranges.
With its tree-lined streets, heritage buildings and old-fashioned shop fronts, Barraba is a delightful gold rush town dating back to the mid-1800s and worth a visit if you are exploring further afield in the region.
Part of the Silo Art Trail, keep an eye out for the amazing 40m high Barraba Silo mural, ‘The Water Diviner’, on your way into town.
‘The Water Diviner’ by Sydney based and internationally recognised artist Fintan Magee was unveiled in April 2019 and has received worldwide notoriety. The mural was inspired by and installed during a period of severe drought across New South Wales and depicts a water diviner at work.
The Barraba silos are located just west of the town centre on Manilla Road.
