Fitzroy Gardens

Take a walk on the wild side and enjoy the Fitzroy Gardens, one of the major and most beautiful attractions in Melbourne. Named after Sir Charles Augustus Fitzroy who was the governor of NSW and the governor general of Australian Colonies it was set aside as a reserve in 1848.

It has been viewed by over 2 million local and international visitors, with a classic Victorian era design, the pathways are lined with elm trees and a variety of flowers, ornamental shrubs with extensive lawns. The Floral displays in the Spanish style conservatory is a point of interest along with the cottage and the scarred tree. Children love the tree of fairies and the model Tudor village sculptures.

The divine scenery will have you walking around the grounds for hours! There is an information booth and cafes, one located in the centre of the Garden.
